New
Operating System Roll Out Training Discovery
|
| Background:
|
The
client is one of the country’s leading regional
financial services firms providing financial, securities
brokerage, trading, investment banking, trust, and other
advisory services to its clients from more than 100
offices in 18 states and the District of Columbia.
|
| Challenge: |
The
client required expert insight into the options possible
for training a 1500 employee workforce and client users
on the use of a new enterprise-wide operations system.
Part I of the implementation could be phased in across
the organization, Part II required overnight conversion
by all users. Phase I of the roll out divided the offices
into 8 groups with training to occur over 8 separate
2 week periods. Phase II required all 1500 users to
be trained in a 3 week period to support overnight,
enterprise wide conversion to the balance of the new
operating system.
|
| Solution: |
A
Discovery effort included an overview of the existing
and new systems, role-based training requirements, learner
analysis by role, identification of implementation risks
from a training perspective, a plan for developing a
new system training program including integrated learning
technologies for internal staff and client users, and
a training development and implementation timetable.
A series of training options were developed to allow
the client to customize training to their unique environment
and budget.
|
| Benefits: |
By
receiving a professionally developed, comprehensive
Discovery report in less than 3 weeks, the client was
able to select appropriate training options and begin
the training and conversion process in time to meet
very short application implementation deadlines. The
depth and clarity of the Discovery report was used as
a tool to divide training development work between internal
and external resources. Knowledge transfer of the Discovery
process to client staff was achieved to support future
learning program development requirements. |
