Project: Learning Program Development – Project Management

Background: The client’s objective was to create a consistent approach to managing hundreds of strategic projects. The objectives they were considering were not satisfied through any existing program.

Challenge: The challenge for DeSai was to create a single learning program that the client could use throughout the organization. It required customization to meet very specific learning objectives, but varied enough to satisfy the needs of a wide-spread audience.
Solution: DeSai designed, developed, and implemented a project management learning program to create project management consistency and industry recognized certification. Based on learning objectives identified in a formal discovery effort, a comprehensive 10 learning event program was developed. In addition to a track of project management courses resulting in PMI certification, additional learning events in project management software, finance and strategy, management and organization, and leadership were included.
Benefits: The result is a project management curriculum customized to the unique needs of the organization that has trained hundreds of employees in project management best practices. Across the enterprise projects are managed in a consistent way and project oriented vocabulary is standardized resulting in improved communication and project results.
