Analyzing Business

Business Analysts are specialists in business areas that act as liaisons between organizational groups. The business analyst needs a wide variety of skills to fulfill all aspects of the role. Generally, the most difficult tasks are deciding where to begin the project, identifying and documenting the detailed business and data requirements, and finding BA training.

The Business Analysts Certification program prepares analysts to assure projects are defined and scope is communicated clearly and appropriately for each audience. Students learn about gathering and documenting the business and functional requirements, as well as how to identify the right solution and verify that the solution meets the original requirements.

The Business Analysts Certification program contains three (3) core and eight (8) elective courses. Certification requires passing each core course exam and a final exam, plus demonstrating through a minimum of two (2) years work experience that the individual has achieved the skills necessary to be an effective Business Analyst.

Core:

  • Essential Skills for the Business Analyst
  • Detailing Data Requirements
  • Detailing Business and Functional Requirements for Process and Business Rules
Electives:
  • Relational Database Concepts
  • Fundamentals of Testing
  • Technical Writing Workshop
  • Effective Negotiations
  • Business Writing Fundamentals
  • Business Finance and Strategy
  • Project Management Fundamentals
  • Project Management Risk Management
