CEO, Co-Founder

Jatin is a seasoned business executive, strategic advisor, and a coach for senior leadership teams. Jatin has extensive field experience in the areas of strategy alignment, corporate innovation, talent management, global competency development, culture transformation, and information technology.

Jatin has been active in leadership and operating roles since 1983 when he co-founded The DeSai Group with his father.

Jatin has written papers, regularly speaks at conferences, lectures at colleges and universities, and delivers educational workshops on Strategic Alignment for Executive Teams, Future Trends, Enterprise Innovation, Enterprise Learning, Organizational Effectiveness, Values and Leadership, Living with Human Values, and Spirituality in the Workplace.

Fal has acted as Co-Founder and CFO of DeSai Group since 1983. She is directly involved in all the financial, maintenance, and employee benefit matters of the company. Through these varied roles, she provides the essential elements that allow the company to operate smoothly.

Fal´s professional, no-nonsense approach guides the management of the company assets. Ongoing research, discovery, and negotiations assure the best acquisitions and allocations.



Tim Maurer
VP, Innoventures and Research

Tim Maurer is responsible for DeSai’s investment activities in strategic innovation opportunities requiring research and idea incubation. He has a track record of transforming organizations, product categories and industries, having held multiple executive roles in product development, marketing and sales across a range of industries. Tim has been an advisor to White House and National Economic Council and has was recognized for his national leadership in helping businesses succeed when he developed a venture with the U. S. Chamber of Commerce, an initiative deemed the most successful program in U. S. Chamber history by the Chamber's president at the time.

Maurer’s extensive experience with collaboration as well as with people, processes and technology has enabled him to make a significant impact as a corporate innovator. Specifically, Tim brings strategic growth responsibilities across First Data, Northeast Utilities, The Travelers, Connecticut Mutual, U. S. Chamber of Commerce, SBA, the International Franchise Association, an affiliate of the Smithsonian and Ski New England resorts. Under Tim's leadership, one entity attained $260,000 EBIT per FTE.

Maurer was one of the first Smart Grid experts in 1996 when he led a collaboration between Rockwell Automation and Northeast Utilities to create a load aggregation and management system leveraging utility pricing parameters, real time meter data and behind-the-meter load control. Most recently, Tim brought the next generation to the Smart Grid -- the Building Aea Network -- which was recognized by the head of the U. S. FERC/NARUC Smart Grid Collaborative as breaking through industry silos. Tim also was an early advocate of harvesting mobile technology, as he was engaged by C-SAM, the leading global mobile transaction processing platform, to introduce their services to U. S. payment processors.

William Grace Frost
VP of Creative Process Design, Faciliation & Training

For over twenty-five years, William Grace Frost has been leading marketing and innovation teams the likes of Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, American Express, Kimberly-Clark, AT&T, Frito-Lay, VISA, Quaker Oats, Cibavision and many more, through innovation exercises for new business ideas, strategies, products and services. In 1989, William joined one of the country’s foremost creative process facilitation & training firms serving FORTUNE 500 clients. As an owner and senior partner, he quickly became the company’s premier innovator of process design and leading business builder.

With nearly four decades of facilitation and training, creativity research, writing and practice, William, along with his wife and collaborator, Quiana Grace Frost, has blended his passion and expertise through a unique experience model called “ekstasis: moving beyond”. The ‘ekstasis’ model is a creative breakthrough process harmonizing human potential movement, mind-body-spirit practices, teachings derived from the wisdom of ancient cultures, improvisation, executive coaching, alternative health & wellness, embodied leadership development and the best creativity practices of the business world.

William is a passionate adaptor-of-process, whole-heartedly focused on continuous improvement in himself and in the processes by which an organization seeks to fulfill its mission and vision and to maintaining a full pipeline of new products and services. At DeSai, William masterfully designs creative and thorough innovation experiences for our clients, yet he maintains a flexible attitude such that when new directions emerge for a client, he can shift on a dime with humility and grace, and without losing sight of the end goal.

Randy Voss
Senior Innovation Advisor and Faculty

Since early 1990's, Randy Voss has held number of senior leadership positions in the areas of Strategic Innovation, Business Development, and Product Development. Most recently, Randy was a Senior Manager, Global Strategy & Business Development at Whirlpool. Additionally, Randy brings a wealth of experience from Panasonic and IBM, where he helped drive creation and incubation of many new ideas, developed thought leadership in the field of organizational innovation, managed large scale business development projects, and consistently was sought after as a key decision maker for strategic initiatives.

Randy has deep curiosity-driven nature with skillful analytical eye. He has established a reputation for distinguishing exceptional ideas from the merely good ones. Through this expertise, he was tapped to participate in the Innovation Challenge, a global competition on innovation to uncover the "Most Innovative MBA Team". He was a 2007 Final Round Judge, 2008 Final Round Judge Facilitator and Keynote Speaker for the event which was held at the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business. For 2010 he will also serve as a Final Round Judge. In an effort to expand the academic perspective on innovation, he also is a guest lecturer annually at Loyola University in Chicago in the marketing program.

Najeeb Ahmad
Vice President - Client Development

Najeeb Ahmad is a seasoned Human Resources executive whose career has spanned twenty years in various industries, business models, and geographies. He has held senior positions with companies ranging in size from 120 employees to more than 50,000, from privately held to Fortune 100. He has consistently coupled his consultation to all levels of management, from first-line supervisors to the C-Suite, with deep experience in strategy, talent management, staffing, leadership coaching, organizational development, team effectiveness, group facilitation and change management. Through rapid organizational growth, downsizings, restructurings, and other business transformations, Najeeb has developed hands-on expertise that couples sound theory and research with practical applications that work.

Najeeb most recently served as Partner, Human Resources at Rosetta, a fast-growing marketing strategy and interactive agency. Prior to that, he led Human Resources at MediaVest, a subsidiary of Publicis. At Bristol-Myers Squibb his roles included leading HR for Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Southern Africa, and leading the Staffing function for R&D and Commercial and Corporate Staff organizations. He also served with Capital One Financial during its explosive growth phase as a generalist and developer of a Global Workforce Integration initiative. He held a regional HR leadership role with the B2B division of Office Depot and multiple positions with Mobil Oil Corporation.

Najeeb holds an MBA and MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, and a BA in History from Georgetown University.


Lokesh Venkataswamy
Strategic Advisor - Intellectual Property

As DeSai's Strategic Partner and Advisor in India, Lokesh brings over twelve years of experience in the areas of innovation and intellectual property. At Larsen & Toubro Limited(L&T), a global multi-national, he was responsible for Innovation & IPR Management as a part the Electrical & Electronics Division. Lokesh has a solid background in Mechanical Engineering and , Mechanical Design & Development. Lokesh has a Masters degree in Business/Commerce, Post Graduate in Business Administration from Symbiosis, Pune, India, and Intellectual Property Law Rights from National Law School of India University. Lokesh has been a member of All India Management Association (AIMA), Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET) and Co-chair at IT Panel at CII Mysore, India.

Lokesh regularly chairs and participates as speaker in Innovation & IPR conferences & seminars and contributed to academia as guest faculty at several institutions like BITS-Pilani, Indian Institute of Management - Indore, International Institute of Information Management - Mysore, Indian Institute of Science,- Bangalore and National Institute of Technology-Surathkal. He has published & presented National & International papers related to Innovation & Intellectual Property Rights and authored several articles in journals and magazines. He was also awarded as winner of "India Innovation Challenge" at 4th India Innovation Summit - 2008 Organized by CII & Govt. of Karnataka. Recently, Lokesh played a role as a mentor and jury in ‘ Power of Ideas – Initiated by top business daily in India ‘The Economic Times’ and Indian Institute of Management –Ahmadabad, India’.


Alain Rostain

Alain Rostain is an expert on organizational innovation. His work over the last 16 years has included helping clients with:

  • Articulating the strategic mandate for innovation
  • Developing and executing implementation plansfor innovation
  • Designing and rolling out innovation culture change programs
  • Training leaders to drive innovation behaviors & results
  • Facilitating and coaching critical innovation teams

Additionally, Alain integrates creative collaboration methods and the innovative use of improvisational techniques to drive organizational effectiveness and results. Alain studied Artificial Intelligence at the undergraduate and graduate levels at Yale University. His academic work focused on understanding how people think, using computers as a model for cognitive thought. As a manager for Price Waterhouse's consulting practice, he developed valuable insights and practices to help people be more effective in the workplace while successfully creating and sustaining organizational change. Alain started Creative Advantage in 1993.

Alain is also the founder and leader of the improv in business community. He was introduced to improvisational theater in 1990. He immediately saw the power of the principles and techniques of improvisation to develop and support group collaboration, individual growth and results.

Alain is fluent in Spanish and French.


Frank Woods

Frank Wood is a seasoned facilitator with 20+ years of experience working with Fortune 1000 organizations as a professional facilitator and workshop leader. He consistently receives exceptional reviews from clients and students due to his relaxed but results-driven style of instruction. He easily creates an atmosphere that allows participants to get involved, participate, and contribute.

Franks also is an expert when designing new workshops in numerous other areas besides innovation; such as leadership development, information technology, change management and other productivity software programs.
