Jatin's Bio
Jatin DeSai is a seasoned business executive, strategic consultant and
a coach for senior leadership teams and emerging leaders. His approach
is that of alignment between the “inner and outer”, and helping them to
see opportunities outside of their secure known ‘playgrounds’. Jatin has
been active in leadership and operating roles since 1983, and as a consultant
in pre and post-IPO companies. He helped address and manage the complex
issues of worldwide market strategies, positioning and market expansion,
and the development and application of smart workgroup tools and models.
He was intimately involved with the creation of such tools. Throughout
his career Jatin has found that one of the things he truly enjoys and
is most passionate about is creating opportunities for others, empowering
them and seeing them fully realize their potential. He has successfully
led, coached, mentored and consulted with many management teams from small
family owned business to Fortune 100 corporations.
Jatin’s
uniqueness as advisor comes from the combination of great sensitivity
to the challenges of the leader with first hand experience as a professional
in the domain. He can intimately relate to the spontaneous demands, the
operational 'in-flux' and complexities of leading an organization. He
is familiar with the reporting requirements, the challenges of simultaneously
managing relationships internally and externally. He appreciates the difficulties
of making tough decisions under constraints.
Jatin works
with leaders with for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in various
capacities:
- Serve as the Strategic Advisor and Trusted Confidant to the CEO, COO,
CMO, CIO, CTO, CFO, CCO, CLO, VP marketing, VP International, VP Sales
and VP International, by working one-on-one. In this capacity it is
his intention to bring greater clarity and objective support while an
executive is confronted with complex issues.
- Facilitate preparation of Mission, Vision, and Values statements and
Strategic Plans.
- Assess the alignment of existing organizational Mission, Vision, Values,
Brand and Strategies. If needed, help drive ‘spiral-shifts’ downwards.
- Institutionalize Corporate Universities to drive workforce performance.
- Help develop Talent-Management and Workforce-Planning initiatives.
- Institutionalize a performance review process. Assess the performance
of the CEO, and/or the executive's team, and/or the individuals who
are on various boards.
- Sit as an observer in meetings that the executive conducts.
- Help orchestrate the streamlining of an organization without sacrificing
the key assets post a merger or acquisition, or when a company needs
to renew its organization structure.
- Advise with choices to be made when the organization is expanding
in new geographic areas or considering new infrastructure to outsource
functional areas.
- Plan and conduct Team Building sessions for the CEO and the executive
team.
- Create and conduct workshops for the direct reports of any functional
areas in the company to infuse greater team spirit, effective communication,
trust and honoring of the organization's deeper purpose.
- Create and conduct workshops to enhance relationships with co-workers,
direct reports, partners and customers.
- Help address operational challenges in the areas of distribution,
relationships with 3rd party providers, measurement of marketing performance,
global effectiveness, operational efficiencies and excellence, worldwide
branding and more.
